Bought the PS3 40GB last thanksgiving. Not used it much but blueray drive suddenly stopped working. Called Sony support and opened the issue.
Today I shipped the PS3 back to Sony for a repair/replacement. They told me it will to around 10 days to get the PS3 back. Let's see how they handle this.
PS3 is still under 1 year warranty. BTW, Sony specifically doesn't offer an extended warranty on PS3.

Ok, so finally I got the PS3. They exchanged the PS3 ( I see a new serial number). Let see how long the blueray drive will last of this one.
